La Rosa Cerarols és una humanista de cap a peus, no només perquè imparteix classes a futurs graduats i graduades en Humanitats a la Universitat Pompeu Fabra, sinó per la seva visió transversal, holística, històrica i fins i tot literària de la geografia, trets ja presents a la tesi doctoral que acabo d’esmentar. La Rosa i el petit grup de geògrafs i geògrafes de la Universitat Pompeu Fabra (liderats inicialment per en Lluís Riudor i, més tard, per en Toni Luna) han estat els introductors a tot l’Estat de les anomenades «geohumanitats», una subdisciplina molt activa i dinàmica als països anglosaxons, però no gaire practicada a casa nostra.
