En aquest volum s’analitzen dos centres d’explotació agrícola d’època romana assentats a la vall de Tossa de Mar (la Selva): Mas Carbotí i Ses Alzines. Ambdós van ser objecte d’intervencions per part del grup de recerca d’Arqueologia de la UdG a finals dels anys 90 i principis dels 2000. Eren establiments modestos destinats de manera exclusiva a funcions industrials –s’hi produïa vi– i estaven vinculats a la propera vil·la dels Ametllers.
