Entre els anys 1971 i 1973 es van efectuar unes exploracions a Casa Pastors de Girona (el Gironès), un edifici situat a tocar de les muralles romanes de la ciutat. Els resultats, presentats detalladament en aquesta monografia, han tingut una notable importància per al coneixement de dues èpoques diferents a la història de la ciutat: els moments inicials de Gerunda i el temps de la tetrarquia.
