On 13th January 1999 the charity "Geólogos del Mundo" was founded, thanks to the implication of the ICOG and the FEG. From that moment on it has accumulated many largely positive experiences, achieved through the great effort and dedication of those of us who set it up, taking into account the difficulties we have encountered along the way. We should highlight the work, collaboration and effort of the many colleagues that have successively got involved in carrying out different projects. This has allowed us to progress following the main aim that was set out from the beginning: to put geology at the service of developing countries in order to reduce their vulnerability in the face of adverse geological events.n
