Raúl Gabás Pallás was born in Benasc-Cerler (Osca) on 29th June in 1934 and studied in Munich, Berlin and Barcelona. He obtained a doctorate in Munich with his work on the Escatologia protestant en l'actualitat (1961) and another from Barcelona with the study La unitat de la raó en Habermas (1977). In Munich he received a grant to work at the Fundació Juan March, and another one in Berlin to work at the Spanish Foreign Ministry. Between 1971 and 1978 he worked on several collaborations with the publishing companies Rialp and Herder, working on the Gran Enciclopèdia Rialp and Sacramentum Mundi. As a Professor of Philosophy, he taught from 1978 to 1983 at the Gili i Gaya secondary school in Lleida, as well as in schools in Sant Joan Despí and Sants-Les Corts in Barcelona. From 1980 to 1983 he alternated his school teaching with University teaching at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. In 1983 he passed the state exams to become Assistant Lecturer in Metaphysics and in 1986 those of Professor of Philosophy. Since then he has been teaching as a Professor of Philosophy at the Universitat Autònoma of Barcelona. The principal subjects for his courses have been: aesthetics, critical theory (the Frankfurt School), the history of contemporary philosophy, the aesthetics of Hegel, Heidegger, and time.nnPublications:nEscatología protestante en la actualidad, Eset, Vitoria 1964J.
