This book derives from the Jornada de Homenaje al Profesor Eduardo Rojo Torrecilla that took place at the Faculty of Law of the Universitat de Girona on 9 November 2023, in which current issues in Labour Law, Social Security and Immigration were presented and debated. However, this publication includes a number of papers that were not presented at the conference.
In addition to the initial paper by Professor Eduardo Rojo Torrecilla in which he reflects on his time at the University of Girona (1992-2007) and on the branch of law to which he has dedicated his professional life, this collective work is divided into four main thematic blocks: the first aims to analyse, through various studies, the new and old issues of Labour Law and Social Security that are still under debate; the second is concerned with Employment policies; the third includes papers on immigration and questions of labour interest in the field of foreigners; and the fourth and lastly, includes two papers on immigration and questions of labour interest in the field of foreigners; and the fourth and last one incorporates two studies on employment in the care sector, based on the fact that the Department of Labour Law and Social Security of the University of Girona has been awarded a Horizon Europe research project (2023-2025), Care4Care, Cuidemos a las personas que cuidan, directed by Professor Ferran Camas Roda.
This work is prefaced by Professor Ferran Camas Roda, Professor of Labour and Social Security Law at the University of Girona, and by Mr. Francesc Castellana, President of the Economic and Social Council of Barcelona. In any case, the authors contributing their studies to this publication include university lecturers, pre- and post-doctoral research staff and institutional positions.
