The landscape is a cultural representation and, therefore, has its own symbolism. A symbolism that becomes collective of the moment in which it becomes part of the common imaginary. This is the case of the Costa Brava and the Empordà; They have become myths thanks to the literary construction that many writers and intellectuals have shaped over the years.
In this book, the result of the first congress on literature and territorial trends held at the University of Girona in October 2015, we can follow the evolution of the studies that link literature and territory and, at the same time, allow us to observe the processes of Literary heritage that has been subjected both to the Costa Brava and the Empordà. Although these two zones share the same geographical segment, we can see how the Costa Brava and the Empordà have acquired a significantly different symbolism. And this fact confirms, on the other hand, the relevance of the lands of Girona in the collective configuration of the Catalan literary landscape.
