Twenty-two years after the election, which gave rise to the first of the books in this historical and uninterrupted series on the analysis of political communication and electoral behavior in the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia, we are without a doubt of the most anomalous elections of all studied so far. Thus, the elections held on December 21, 2017 were called not by the President of the Generalitat, as established by the Statute, but by the President of the Spanish Government, Mariano Rajoy, as a result of the suspension of autonomy. and the removal of the Government in accordance with Article 155 of the Spanish Constitution.
