Although the book is sufficiently explained, I want to highlight two aspects related to biography - rare grandparents of the scientific world of Catalonia, so lacking in patrons - that, in my opinion, we Catalans should be well aware of. The first: Marimurtra is the work of a German, of a person of Central European culture; not from any of our compatriots. And second: Faust, a businessman who raised a considerable fortune, died penniless in his pocket because he had left everything to the foundation that bears his name in order to ensure the continuity of his garden. This followed the thought of Johann W. von Goethe about the obligation of each of us to build something in order to leave it for the benefit of our neighbor.
Unfortunately this beautiful story - as I like to call it - had a very hard time. Faust, who ended his days with the plants he loved so much, must have felt very lonely and with a doubt, reasonable and very sad for him, about the survival of his work. Now Faust is resting on a grave in the Blanes cemetery but also sitting on a bench on the seafront, reading Goethe's "Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahrer". In a pause from reading, he looks up at Marimurtra and smirks.
